132 abstracts submitted for the 50th WEFTA Conference

In total 132 abstracts have been submitted for the WEFTA jubilee meeting "Innovation & Biorefinery in Seafood Production and Processing". We have 23 contributions in sub theme micro- and macro algae. And 11 for the subtheme sustainable aquaculture and its impact on product quality. The majority of the contributions (39) is in the area of innovative seafood processing and quality. And for seafood safety and authenticity we have received 17 abstracts. In the blue biotechnology for food and non-food area 19 abstracts. And within the area of seafood consumption and consumers 10. And another 13 abstracts in other areas.
Kaithlyn Vanhoutte from ILVO (Belgium) from the WEFTA organizing committee has provided for the Scientific Committee a draft abstract book to be used for the evaluation of the abstracts.
